Coaching is the only chance you may get to be listened to by someone who is totally unbiased and has your goals and aspirations at the forefront of their mind!

Often we are told or advised what to do, but everyone is different and therefore what is right for your friend/colleague, is not necessarily the right solution for you.   Our friends, family or colleagues will try to help us out of a rut, but again it is very directive, biased or they may hold you back intentionally or unintentionally.  So you rarely get the space to explore what is right for you when talking to friends/family about what is the right for you – rather you get a lot of ‘I would do XYZ’, ‘You should do XYZ’ or ‘You can’t do XYZ’ – coaching lets you work out what you want to do and what is right for you.

With coaching, you still take into consideration the impact to those around you, but not in a way that only gives you one or limited options that will may or may not make you happy.

Coaching is non-directive and non-threatening – you are never told what to do, but rather the options are unravelled as you are finally given the chance to explore your thoughts, beliefs and mindset.  A coach will challenge you, but never limit you.
